Say hello to Kalee:Special thanks to Klute for helping me out with my pictures :)
Learning to paint miniatures for fun...
Yesterday I finally managed to convince the prep elf to prep something new. I chose a pretty lady from Hasslefree. Looking forward to painting her. Until then here is another WIP of something that had been prepped and ready to paint forever. One of the old deamonette sculpts that I'd stated paintinging years ago.
Meh. I've painted most of the fun stuff (read: nekkid chicks) that was prepped and primed before my hiatus. Now it's mostly the impossible pieces that are left. That basically means boring figures, very large figures, and figures with way too much detail. The prepping elf does not want to prep any more figures before I finish some of these. The one over to the left is a dragonfly for the Urban War game. She also has a set of huge wings in addition to her huge swords. Do not want to paint.
Horrible picture :( I'll be redoing this when I get the new camera setup. I decided to go with Tooshy's suggestion and slap some snow on the base. It's not as elaborate and pretty as her version, but it'll do. The prepping elf and I actually wanted to start a Tau army at some point. This is the first finished miniatures, so I'm hoping we'll be done by the time we retire. It'll be nice to have some armies to play around with at that point.

Since people still visit my website to read the skintone tutorial, I have done a step by step expansion. It deals with painting light skintones in a moderately fast way. You can read it here.
Just how amazing is this sculpt? I love it! I think this is going to be my first miniature purchase after I manage to paint up some of the minis I have.
Libby for president!
I decided to finish off my Reaper paint collection so I ordered the last part of the set. It was pretty pricy, but I really love these paints. Amazing quality!
Libby and the kroot and that evil Rackham mini are still WIP four years later!
Søren went online and ordered some stuff from GW. I don't know why I bother with them really, but I wanted to order from somewhere where I knew I'd get my stuff resonably fast. I got some brushes (don't ask why, I honestly don't know) and a few paints (again, don't ask). I wanted to order some minis, but it looks like they've redesigned stuff to make it more ugly. Did they make new deamonettes? I really liked the old elegant ones. Not the old-old ones. The ones from 2003 or so.
