WIP Daemonette
Yesterday I finally managed to convince the prep elf to prep something new. I chose a pretty lady from Hasslefree. Looking forward to painting her. Until then here is another WIP of something that had been prepped and ready to paint forever. One of the old deamonette sculpts that I'd stated paintinging years ago.

Early WIPs
Meh. I've painted most of the fun stuff (read: nekkid chicks) that was prepped and primed before my hiatus. Now it's mostly the impossible pieces that are left. That basically means boring figures, very large figures, and figures with way too much detail. The prepping elf does not want to prep any more figures before I finish some of these. The one over to the left is a dragonfly for the Urban War game. She also has a set of huge wings in addition to her huge swords. Do not want to paint.
Then we have my Dark Age Brood army. I actually really like these sculpts, but they are quite big. I get very easily discouraged when painting large stuff.
I do have some good news! I finished Taryn! I actually really like the finished paintjob and the base. I can't wait to get an awesome picture and share it with you guys!
The package from GW didn't arrive today either :( It's more than a week since I ordered it. I want my crappy brushes, dammit!

So this kroot....
Horrible picture :( I'll be redoing this when I get the new camera setup. I decided to go with Tooshy's suggestion and slap some snow on the base. It's not as elaborate and pretty as her version, but it'll do. The prepping elf and I actually wanted to start a Tau army at some point. This is the first finished miniatures, so I'm hoping we'll be done by the time we retire. It'll be nice to have some armies to play around with at that point.
WIP status
Ok, the Hasslefree girl and the Celtos siren are finished now. I need to take pictures, but the light is bad today. I ordered some photo stuff which should arrive next week. I hope I'll be able to take good pics using that. Current WIPs are the warmachine girl (almost done with her) and some puds for my Dark Age Brood army. Love these little guys.

The paintjobs that time forgot
I found some pictures of minis that had never reached the website. I remember I painted some of these at ReaperCon 2005 while experimenting with the (then) new Reaper Master Series paints. I particularly love the Nymph. She is a beautiful sculpt.
New tutorial: Painting skintones
Since people still visit my website to read the skintone tutorial, I have done a step by step expansion. It deals with painting light skintones in a moderately fast way. You can read it here.

WIP update
New WIP pics - Celtos, Hasslefree, Taryn the evil ho
Celtos Fomorian Siren (aka Boobasaurus 1) - almost done, just needs a base and maybe one or two more highligths if I feel like it:
Hasslefree Nekkid Chick (aka Boobasaurus 2) - working on skintones:
Taryn the evil ho (aka Taryn the evil ho) - I finished her cloak, I'm working on sleeves and hands now. Sorry about the blurry pic. The camera wanted to focus on the boobs in the background:

OMG I need this and website woes
Ok, so I've been browsing around on different manufacturer websites to see what new stuff they've released in the last couple of years. I haven't really found anything that I "desperately needed" until I found this one the Hasslefree Website (hope Kev and Sally are ok with me stealing their pic):
Just how amazing is this sculpt? I love it! I think this is going to be my first miniature purchase after I manage to paint up some of the minis I have.
In other news, I still don't know what to do about the website. I want to do some php stuff with a gallery etc. so it's easy to update, but I know nothing about php and MySQL and stuff like that. Can anyone recommend an application framework for me? Bonus points if it has tutorials that covers installing it. Thanks :)

WIP Celtos Siren
That evil skank Taryn is pissing me off. Blending her cloak is a good dose of anti-fun, so I grabbed another mini that was primed and ready to paint. Not the hottest sculpt in the world. She is a little manly and some of the details are quite rough, but I like the simplicity and the boobies.
In other news, I didn't recieve my GW order today. Hurry up, GW. I need ze ztuff!

WIP Taryn di la Rovissi, Llaelese Gun Mage
Thank you , Pete, for providing her with a name. What was I thinking buying a mini with a name that long? I guess I'll give her a red cloak. It seems to fit the name.
Also, she's an annoying, evil mini to paint so progress is rather slow. She's one of those minis with what seems like details for the sake of details. Who needs all those belt buckles, buttons, tiny little skulls? Personally, I'm pretty badass, and I get buy with just one belt buckle, a minimum of buttons an no exposed miniature skulls.
In other news, if I buy this, do you think they will include the dude to take pictures for me?

Liberty (Hasslefree Miniatures)
Libby for president!
Sigh, tried to take a picture of Libby. Pretty much epic fail. My camera is fine (I think), I just don't have enough light. I guess this means spending more $$$$ :( I'll get better pictures of her when I get my camera setup sorted.
I do love how the face turned out. I tried to add some blush on her cheekbones, and I think it gives her a lovely flush.
Oh, in case you are wondering, the background was built from a box of nail polish and a shirt from H&M. It's actually a really nice shirt. I recommend it!

Sneak Peak: One Happy Family and some snot
A picture of my "Finished Miniature Happy Family. It was taken with flash which is why it's sort of washed out.
I can't believe I stayed up painting this late. I have a nasty cold and I think I might be drowing in snot. Maybe I got sick from licking brushes with 5 years old paint on them. I guess that would rule out piggy flu.
Anyway, as you can see in the picture Krooty boy is finished. I sort of want to do something cool with the base but I dunno. Libby is still hella shiny in places. Going to have to slap another coat of matte varnish on her. Little melty frosty needs a snow base.

First finished paintjob (no pics) and Reaper
I finished the Libby mini last night. I'm pretty happy with most of her. I haven't found a good picture setup yet, but I hope to have some good pics this weekend.
I also picked up an extra bottle of the brown Liner and Linen white. Both of those colors are incredible.
I think I know why my glazes were turning out grainy. I changed my mixing water, and now it seems fine so it was either mixing medium or dust in the water container. In any case I'm glad I solved that issue since it was pissing me off!
I decided to finish off my Reaper paint collection so I ordered the last part of the set. It was pretty pricy, but I really love these paints. Amazing quality!

Since I was paying shipping (and probably evil custom fees) I grabbed some minis and brushes too. Mostly Werner Klocke sculpts.
I think my next finished paintjob will be the kroot warrior. He's super annoying to paint. It will be a pleasure to be finish with him.

Day 2: Mini painting is torture
Holy shit my neck and shoulders hurt!
I do remember getting a little sore but not like this! Getting old is evil. I think I probably need a better chair. Maybe I'll try moving my computer chair down to my new painting station.
I did some more painting last night and it was quite entertaining. I ended up cutting a bit of the Vallejo brush with a pair of scissors, and it works better now. The eyeliner brush is surprisingly good! I almost finished my Libby from Hasslefree. I'll try to take a picture when I get home.
My blending seems a little rough. I don't know if it's the water around here, but my glazes seem to get a little grainy with heavy dillution. It might be that they are old. I had forgotten how friggin amazing the reaper paints are. The fleshtones are to die for. I need more browns though. Reaper seems to have released more colors so I might order those. And some minis even though I have approx 5 million Reaper miniatures from ReaperCon 2005.
Check out this WIP pic from 2005.
Libby and the kroot and that evil Rackham mini are still WIP four years later!
Søren went online and ordered some stuff from GW. I don't know why I bother with them really, but I wanted to order from somewhere where I knew I'd get my stuff resonably fast. I got some brushes (don't ask why, I honestly don't know) and a few paints (again, don't ask). I wanted to order some minis, but it looks like they've redesigned stuff to make it more ugly. Did they make new deamonettes? I really liked the old elegant ones. Not the old-old ones. The ones from 2003 or so.
